Young women and ICTs, shifting to interconnectedness
The event was held for nearly three hours

The access of women to science, technologies and ICTs have being widely explored during the 55th edition of the CSW. To hear the voice of young women and best practices on the field, UN Women has organized a parallel event engaging global youth leaders. Under the title, the round table focused on promoting gender equality and the empowerment of young women and girls through innovation and new technologies, in a diverse panel discussion and interactive town hall forum.

An Adolescents Taskforce created through the coordination of UNFPA and UNESCO

Some of the panels held during the CSW are emphasizing the relation between health and education in girls. In many developing countries, nearly ¾ of the population is under the age of 30 and half of them are women, so this relation requires further attention. To underline the relevance of secondary education, UNESCO and UNFPA together with the International Planned Parenthood organized an event that gave the opportunity to NGOs to exchange their views.
