The African Women Caucus is a space for organizations and individuals working in Africa to coordinate efforts towards more effective advocacy strategies. Towards a further implementation of Resolution 1325

The UN Security Council Resolution 1325 has been a major achievement in the last decade and most of the women organizations agree on its importance. Year 2010 has witnessed the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the landmark document, together with four supporting resolutions, namely 1820, 1888,1889 and 1960. Those demonstrated the political will of governments to address the wider issue of peace in post conflict governance. Read more...

Femmes Africa Solidarite present a toolkit for women living in conflict and postconflict environments

With ocassion of the CSW, Femmes Africa Solidarite, has presented the book "UNSCR 1325 and Prevention: A Hybrid for Utilizing Human Rights and Early Warning Frameworks in the Campaign to End Violence against Women". As Bineta Diop, Executive Director of FAS has explained during the launching of this publication "this book is a practical toolkit to address concerns affecting women that live in conflict areas in the African continent".
